This gidgee
smoothing plane is 210mm long x 67mm wide x 38mm high.
Weighs 0.9Kg and has a 50mm wide x 6mm thick x 97mm long
Tool Steel Rc 62-64, OR HSS 18% Tungsten Rc 62.
It has a 60 degrees blade angle
for planing or
90 degrees for scraping. The Handle allows
the plane to be pushed or pulled and
is removable on a taper.
Used for final smoothing of any timber
surface which has been dressed by a planer, thicknesser
or Jack Plane. Used correctly this plane will smooth any
difficult timber surface leaving little or no sanding.
Alternate use as a cabinet scraper simply by reversing
the blade. A cabinet makers work horse. |
