PAUL WILLIAMS - ACADEMY SAWS |
Replacement blade for a Record Block plane.
06 ½, 09 ½ SIZE: 41 mm wide x 2.5 mm thick BEVEL: 25° MATERIAL: M2 HSS hardened to RC 63 -64 and cryogenically treated. SHARPENING: Paul recommends wet grinding or dry grinding with a very soft white, blue or pink wheel. For sharpening HNT Gordon recommends the Japanese Waterstones sold via this site. COMMENTS: Precision grinding alone will not ensure your blade will clamp properly or flatten easily. Paul Williams goes a step further, using his craft skills as a professional knife maker. The iron is slightly curved end to end to eliminate chatter where clamped. The nose area is partly hollowed to ease flattening, the bulk of which is done for you. |
