Ebony 1"  Shoulder Plane:  This plane is a bargain because the ebony has a fair bit of sapwood as shown in the second photo, but most of the sapwood is hidden in the brass sole.   It has a small dent in the side also.  It has all the other good features of ebony being very stable and dense.  It will make a great work horse and is good value at that price.
